If you’re into comedy, this is a great week for you with comedians taking the stage at Yuk Yuk’s, The Laugh Shop, and the 25th Annual FunnyFest Comedy Festival, just to name a few.

If stand-up isn’t your thing, however, there are lots of other great events, such as the Alexander Keith's Lobster Boil, the Calgary Orchid Show, the Comic Creators Festival, the Lilac Festival, and more!

  • Mark Forward at The Laugh Shop (May 29 - 31) MARK FORWARD was born on June 17th, 1974, and was raised in Oakville, Ontario by the lovely Reg and Joanne Forward. After taking theatre in college, he quickly found himself using those skills to enter the world of stand-up comedy. 

  • Alexander Keith's Lobster Boil 2025 (May 29) Join us on Thursday, May 29th for our Annual Maritime Lobster Boil with Alexander Keith’s! The Comedy Factory (May 30) From the pioneers of Gujarati Stand-up comedy, Manan Desai, Chirayu Mistry, Deep Vaidya and Om Bhatt, we bring to you a brand new show, The Lavari Show. As the name and poster suggest, these 4 comedians will not just perform standup but also do Improv, and live podcasts with various celebrity guests.

  • Mahler's Resurrection CPO (May 30) The Symphony No. 2 in C minor by Gustav Mahler, known as the Resurrection Symphony, was written between 1888 and 1894, and first performed in 1895.

  • Sara Naeini & Reza Rohani Live in Calgary (May 31) Sara Naeini (aka Saranin) is a professional singer known for her powerful and angelic voice. Sara classifies her musical genre as Pop mixed with Jazz and Classical influences.

  • Calgary Civic Symphony Rising Stars (June 1) Each year, Calgary’s brightest rising musical stars compete in the Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition to share the stage with the Civic Symphony. Four winners perform a movement from their chosen concerto, and four runners-up perform in a pre-concert recital. A favourite of our loyal audiences!

  • Lilac Festival (June 1) This free one-day event is the start-up to Calgary's vibrant festival season, and encourages citizens to shake off their winter blues and reintroduce themselves to the thriving creative community in our city. Each spring, thousands of attendees come out to enjoy the unique and pedestrian-friendly 4th Street venue, offering an array of musical talent, artisan vendors, quality entertainment and some perfect people watching.
