Things to Do This Week

• Taste of Calgary (July 31 - Aug 4) Taste of Calgary is the city's most appetizing festival, giving visitors the chance to sample the city's food, beverages, music and other cool things.

• Calgary Bluesfest (July 31 - Aug 3) As we enter our third decade of bringing the best in Blues to our Calgary Bluesfest audiences, we know that blues fans are the glue that binds us. Thank you for standing with us and helping create the magic! 

• Sean Lecomber at The Laugh Shop (July 31 - Aug 2) Sean is a CBC Debaters regular with 30 appearances on the show.  He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Sean is the winner of the Just for Laughs homegrown competition, awarded each year to Canada’s funniest new comedian. His work can also be heard on XM Radio.  

• BigXthaPlug: Take Care Tour (July 31) BigXthaPlug, Dallas, Texas’ own rising star, is rapidly solidifying his place as one of hip-hop’s most powerful voices, known for his unapologetic lyrics and magnetic presence on the mic. 

• Romeo & MOOliet (July 31 - Aug 3) The Cowtown Collection is so excited to announce that Romeo & MOOliet is BACK for a second year of Calgary's best Bovine-Bard-Bonanza! This ridiculous, music-filled adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic is guaranteed to be the best thing you've ever HERD. With the continued hiatus of Calgary’s staple summer Shakespeare program, come support the continuation of this theatrical tradition. This show is rated PG.

• The Spirits of Summer at KWM (July 31) Join us for a lively, sun-soaked evening exploring how these bold, botanical ingredients add depth, character, and a touch of magic to your favourite warm-weather drinks. Through guided tastings and a few refreshing cocktails, you’ll discover their rich history, flavourful nuances, and how they elevate summer sips from good to unforgettable. 

• Saved By The 90s Trivia at Prairie Dog Brewing (July 31) Tremendous Trivia and Prairie Dog Brewing are pleased to present an evening to celebrate the BEST decade ever – the 1990s! Come prepared with your team to celebrate all things 90s: your favourites from the world of music, movies, and TV shows from the era, as well as sports, history, and of course, all those great trends and fads we embraced! 

• Some Antics - Comedy (July 31 - Sept 29) Y’all ready for Some Antics? Come one, come all to a performance show with a comedic through line. The point is laughter. Comedy and hilarity of ALL KINDS.  Stand up, performance art, dance, show & tell, poetry, storytelling, drag, music, skits, and more - no expressive art will be declined. 

• The Office Trivia at Cabin (July 31) Think you know every Dundie winner and cringe-worthy Michael Scott moment? Prove it. (Spoiler: You’ll fail hard.) That's what she said. 

• Fringe Fest (Aug 1 - 9) Fringes are ‘open access’ theatre festivals, bringing together emerging and established artists alike to tell their stories on stage.

• Okotoks Dawgs vs Cactus Rats (Aug 1) At Seaman Stadium. 

• Kirk MacDonald & Bruce Barth JAZZ Live at The Attic Bar & Stage (Aug 1) Toronto-based saxophonist, composer, and educator Kirk MacDonald will be joining forces with renowned New York pianist, composer, and educator Bruce Barth for a series of duet performances across Canada.

• Tour de Bowness Street Festival (Aug 4) We are thrilled to have you join us on Monday, August 4, 2025, for the Tour de Bowness Race + Festival, for some August long weekend festivities! This year marks a special milestone—the 22nd Anniversary of this incredible event. The cycling race runs from 9 AM to 5 PM, while festival activities and vendors operate from 10 AM to 5 PM.
