More Things to Do

Ongoing…

  • Evolution of the Greatest Boy Bands at Stage West Theatre (Nov 7 - Feb 4) This show will recreate music history from the Beatles to The Bee Gees to the New Kids on the Block and finally on to NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.

  • Hygge Hut on River Walk in East Village (Various Days until March) The Hygge Hut is a big warm East Village hug in the middle of a long, cold Calgary winter. The contemporary, Scandinavian-style space is inspired by the Danish idea of Hygge, which means a special kind of well-being. It’s a cozy, easy togetherness enhanced by the glow of a firepit, soft lighting, a warm drink and good company.

  • The Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk (10:30 am daily pending weather) Once again this winter, you can see up to 14 king penguins outside of their habitat as they take a royal promenade through zoo grounds at the Penguin Walk daily.

  • Meteor Shower opens at Theatre Calgary (Jan 23 - Feb 11)  An Absurdist, Fast-Paced Comedy. Steve Martin’s signature wit is on full display in this comedy, where the jokes are served as quickly as the drinks.

  • Snow Days Festival Banff (Jan 19 - Feb 4) Every January Banff and Lake Louise come alive with the annual SnowDays celebration. The streets of downtown Banff transform into larger-than-life winter galleries with giant snow sculptures to be found throughout.

Where to Eat

If you like eating, this is for you.

  • Thai Thien Sub: With an almost perfect 5-star rating on Google and a menu with no item over $10, this is a great spot to grab some tasty Vietnamese food without breaking the bank.

  • A Plus Pizza: This new Italian restaurant is known to serve up mouth-watering pizza along with a variety of sides, such as ravioli, salad, and wings.

  • Delmonico: Another new restaurant in Calgary, Delmonico brings Western-fusion cuisine to the city, including pancakes, bennies, and omelettes for breakfast, and things like cauliflower fritters, crispy baby scallops, melon salad with feta, burgers and brisket for later in the day.
